The club have supported many activities and projects to help raise funds to enable the Lions in Buxton to assist individuals and organisations within the Buxton and District community. Events like our next project the Buxton Lions Twin Peaks Challenge Moonlight Sponsored Walk to be held on Friday evening 22nd June and the Duck Race held on the Saturday of the Buxton Carnival week July 14th. Both events help us as a group to raise funds for our charity projects in the local community.
Buxton & District Lions have raised thousands of pounds for the local community as well as performing many hours of community service. Meetings are twice a month, details of which you will find elsewhere on this excellent web site provided by one of our members. The 2nd Thursday of each month is a business meeting where we update each other on what we have been doing and the 4th Friday is where we all sit down with our wives to enjoy a pleasant meal at the Buckingham Hotel. As a member, you pay a subscription of just £5 a month to cover the administration costs, so that everything that you raise from your activities goes back into the local community. So why not contact us or come and help us with our activities.
Then like me, after many years of being a member of the Lions, you too will still be having good fun with your friends and have lots of good memories of help provided by you and your family to our local community. So if you are interested just send me an email and I will be pleased to take you to one of our meetings or get you to join in with one of our events so that you can see and experience what the Lions do in Buxton.
